We are Excellent Reading Teachers!
Arrowhead Science Fair Was a Success!
I am so proud of all students who participated in the Arrowhead Science fair today. What great projects! Overall, about 45 students K-5 participated. Many will continue tonight, taking their projects to compete at the Billings Clinic Science Fair. We wish them luck.

💕Valentines Day Party! 💕
Happy New Year!
We are in full swing again, and students have come to school prepared, and working hard. Just a few announcements about upcoming events:
1. Students are researching information about an animal of their choice. They will write a 5 paragraph expository essay of their animal (which will be guided by specific teacher instruction as they work), create a presentation powered by technology (mostly at school), and build a diorama (the only part that needs to be completed at home). Students are learning to use their time wisely, and they shouldn't have much homework, unless they fall behind and cannot complete this project/essay during regular class time. The diorama will be due in February (specific date TBD).
2. Winter Testing: Students have finished NWEA Reading and SRI Reading Tests. I am so proud of their progress. It is clear that they take testing seriously, and are working hard to continually improve and practice. The math NWEA Test will take place January 15th. I am excited that students cheered to take the test- they are ready to show everyone how hard they've worked!
3. March 22nd will be the Arrowhead Science Fair. A note will go home explaining this more in detail. Be looking for it in Tuesday Folders soon.
Thank you for all your support in helping your child succeed. If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to email me!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore
I loved seeing you all at Open House last night! Thank you for taking the time to visit, and hopefully I answered some questions you might have had. This year has already blown me out of the water. Students are terrific, and I thank you for being their first and greatest teacher. If you were unable to make it, I am sending home handouts. Please don't hesitate to get ahold of me if you have any questions. My contact information is in the packet.
Something I didn't mention last night:

Order and Pay online!!!

I will do my best to keep you up to date on this website, and most importantly in students' planners! Thank you for talking to your child nightly about what they learned, and signing their planners. It helps them reinforce and retain their new knowledge.
Thanks again!

A Great Beginning!
We are getting into the full swing of things in 4th Grade. We are filling out our Assignment Notebooks nightly with our daily learning objectives. If you're wondering about homework, I tell students that if they don't finish their classwork, it will become homework. They are also responsible for getting their planners signed nightly, reading for 25 or more minutes, and practicing their multiplication facts. Please look for assignments written in the “Daily Goals” section. It is important for students to be held accountable for their assignments.
We will begin NWEA and SRI testing next Monday, Sept. 4th. Since we test in the morning, please help to get your child to school on time. We will test Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for those who need additional time (8:30-10:00 am).
Please sign up for FreshSchools if you are not currently on (directions on the school website). Monthly newsletters will be sent out via FreshSchools and on the website each month. If you don't have internet/email Mrs. Meier will print a hard copy for you; just let us know.
Lastly, I encourage all families to sign up for the PTA! It is only $10, and all the money comes back into our classrooms in the form of field trips, teacher grants, family fun nights, and so much more. We appreciate your support!
It is such a joy working with your children every day! Thank you for sharing them with me.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore

Welcome to a New & Exciting New Year
2018-2019
I am eagerly awaiting our first day of school together. There are so many changes that have been made to our classroom, even before you arrived. First, you will notice a "beachy" themed classroom. Since we will spend many hours together in this space, this will be our favorite place, our paradise. Next, you may notice there are no name tags. Instead, seating will be flexible- you will have the opportunity to choose the best spot for you to do your best work! Finally, my goal was to create a safe, relaxed place to learn together. After research, I found light filters intended to eliminate harsh glare, eyestrain, headaches, and anxiety caused by fluorescent lighting, and Mrs. Meier was generous to purchase them for us! As you can see, I am very excited for you to arrive and am confident that this year is going to be awesome. I will see you on Tuesday, August 21st! You can put away your school supplies while checking out our newly remodeled room. See you soon!

Kindness is contagious!
We will all wear our school shirts proudly on Friday, August 24th, spreading kindness across our Arrowhead community.
